A construction engineer with a master’s degree in global engineering and international projects, Mr. Mathieu Pépin joined the Bureau de reconstruction de Lac-Mégantic in 2019 to get involved in rebuilding the downtown area and community projects. Driven by the vision of a city committed to being recognized as a leader of the energy transition in Quebec and internationally, Mr. Pépin has committed his career to being a leader in the fight against climate change. Now, as Energy Transition Project Manager, Mr. Pépin is proud to represent his community in this visionary commitment. As the person responsible for planning and implementing the City of Lac-Mégantic’s energy transition plan, Mr. Pépin works with the various teams within the municipal organization to carry out projects designed to improve the energy performance and decarbonation of the infrastructures and services offered by the City. He also supports the municipal organization in defining downtown reconstruction projects in line with the principles of sustainable development and the energy transition plan. Within the community, Mr. Pépin, as the City’s official representative, sits on the Commission de l’innovation et de la transition écologique (CITÉ) and collaborates on the projects of citizen members of the commission. In addition, Mr. Pépin promotes and popularizes the energy transition, proudly supporting the project of a resilient and committed community!
