Mathieu Lavoie

Mathieu Lavoie joined the Direction de la restauration des sites miniers (DRSM) in April 2020. Since April 2021, he has held the position of coordinator of the monitoring and maintenance team within the Service de gestion des sites miniers abandonnés (SGSMA). His team’s mandate is to ensure the integrity of the infrastructure in place on abandoned mine sites under the responsibility of the State and to minimize the risks to the public and the environment. Previously, he worked as an environmental project manager for Englobe and Akifer. He has also worked as a research professional at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) and the Geological Survey of Canada (GSC). Lavoie holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering physics from Université Laval.
