Martin Roy

UQAM

Martin Roy obtained a PhD in geology from Oregon State University in 2003 and then worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Columbia University. Since 2005, he has been a professor in the Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at UQAM. His research focuses on the role of ice caps in past climate change, and interactions between ice caps and the ocean, notably through the study of large glacial lakes and their drainage during the last deglaciation. He is also interested in the provenance of glacial sediments, and is involved in various glacio-propsection projects to apply Quaternary knowledge to mineral exploration in glaciated environments.
