Marcel Laflamme
Marcel Laflamme has more than 40 years of experience in the mining industry. He joined Norda Stelo in 2018 and is recognized for his strong team management skills, technological innovation, and versatility in mining engineering. He primarily works on economic studies, engineering studies, mine design, optimization, and planning mandates for both surface and underground operations. Mr. Laflamme obtained a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering in 1981, follwed by a master’s degree in 1985, and a Ph.D. in 1990—all from Université Laval in Quebec City. Prior to joining Norda Stelo, he worked in Université Laval’s Department of Mining Engineering as a lecturer, teaching assistant, assistant professor, and associate professor. He has also worked as a research scientist and Regional Director – Environmentally Responsible Mining Technologies for Natural Resources Canada in Val d’Or, and as a research scientist in the Mineral Technology Branch at the Mineral Research Centre.
