Louis Morneau
Mr. Louis Morneau is Vice-président au développement durable et aux partenariats en territoire nordique (Vice-president, Sustainable Development and Northern Territory Partnerships) at the Société du Plan Nord. He is responsible for coordinating government action in the North. In this regard, he oversees financial assistance programs, territorial relations as well as the Business Development Office.
Mr. Morneau has more than 25 years of operational and strategic management experience within various government organizations. His career started in 1987 as an engineer with a mining company, where he was actively involved in the development of underground gold mines. Following this, he worked for the ministère de l’Environnement, the ministère des Ressources naturelles (Energy sector), the Secrétariat du Conseil du trésor and the ministère de la Sécurité publique, where he was associate deputy minister for nearly 10 years.
Engineer by training, Louis Morneau studied at Université Laval in Québec City and graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Geological Engineering, and with a Master of Business Administration.
