Jocelyn Veilleux

Université de Sherbrooke

Jocelyn Veilleux works as a Professor within the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnological Engineering at the Université de Sherbrooke since 2013. Trained in engineering physics and in chemical engineering, he uses his knowledge to develop, synthesize and deposit advanced ceramics and functional materials. He adapted RF thermal plasma processes to deposit thermal barrier coatings, graphene coatings as well as active electrode materials for energy storage. Anodes, cathodes and solid electrolytes for lithium batteries, as well as aging and recycling of said materials are active research themes within his group. He has trained more than 20 graduate students and postdocs, and his teaching ability was recognized by the Jacques Bazinet Prize in 2019 and 2020.
