Jean-François Grenier

Jean François Grenier has been an engineer at the Direction de la restauration des sites miniers du ministère des Ressources naturelles since 2024, where he works as a project manager. He is notably involved in projects related to the restoration of asbestos mine sites. Prior to joining the Ministry, he worked in environmental consulting and contaminated soil management in both Quebec and France, and later as a project manager at the college technology transfer centre COALIA, specializing in environmental geochemistry, mineralogical characterization, and the valorization of mineral products and by-products. Asbestos-related issues have been a recurring theme throughout his career, beginning during his university studies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Geological Engineering from Université Laval and a master’s degree in Earth Sciences from the Institut national de la recherche scientifique – Centre Eau Terre Environnement.
