Jamie Stephen

Dr. Jamie Stephen is the Managing Director of TorchLight, a bioenergy project developer and strategy advisor working with governments, utilities, heavy industry, forest products companies, airlines, and investors. Projects range from the development of energy facilities to national government strategies.

Jamie has over two decades of experience in the bioenergy and carbon management industry, working at the interface of the energy, forestry, agriculture, and waste sectors.

He holds a PhD in Forest and Energy Economics and a Masters in Chemical and Biological Engineering from the University of British Columbia. Jamie is the Project Director for Rocky Mountain Carbon, the world’s largest carbon dioxide removal project under development, which would have a climate impact roughly equivalent to Canada’s entire battery EV fleet.
