Isabelle Lévesque

Ms. Isabelle Lévesque has nearly 20 years of experience as a geotechnical engineer for the management of tailings sites, waste rock piles and retention structures (water or mining waste). Before joining the MRNF, Ms. Lévesque was, for 5 years, principal advisor for tailings and water storage facilities for the Rio Tinto Global group and Closure (Legacy sites). Before joining Rio Tinto, Isabelle worked for consulting firms and mining companies across Canada. She holds a master’s degree in mineral engineering from École Polytechnique de Montréal and a bachelor’s degree in geological engineering from the University of British Columbia. Isabelle is committed to the proper management of mining sites during and following mining activities in order to mitigate risks and negative impacts on communities and the environment.
