Hélène Legros

Hélène Legros earned an engineering degree in mining and quarrying from UniLaSalle (France), as well as a PhD in metallogeny from the Université de Lorraine (France). Her PhD thesis focused on tungsten and rare metal mineralization in Southeast China. She then worked for four years as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Alberta (Canada) on W–Be skarns of the Canadian Cordillera and rare metal resources in mantle rocks of the Superior Craton as part of the Metal Earth project. Hélène specializes in understanding the mobility of rare metals in magmatic-hydrothermal systems. She now works at the Ministère to understand Nb and REE mineralization associated with carbonatites and alkaline massifs in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean Region.
