Mines Agnico Eagle

Geneviève Carignan holds a bachelor’s degree in resource geology (2006) and a master’s degree on a zinc-copper deposit in Chibougamau (2010) from the Université du Québec à Montréal. More recently, she graduated from the 2nd cycle microprogram in management applied to the mineral industry at the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (2021).

She has over 10 years of experience in the industry, first as an exploration geologist for Yorbeau Resources (2010-2011) and then as a production geologist at Iamgold’s Westwood mine (2011-2015).
With Agnico Eagle’s technical services since 2015, she started out as a modeling geologist and then senior resource estimation geologist until 2020. She then continued her career in the project evaluation and acquisition team as project evaluation coordinator (2020-2022) and now back in technical services since 2022, she acts as coordinator of the Core Scanning project.

She is currently in charge of integrating core scanning technology and artificial intelligence into the acquisition and use of geological data in Agnico Eagle’s various processes. She coordinates the team of geologists dedicated to Core Scanning in Technical Services, and provides liaison and support with sites, specialists in each field and contractors.

Her experience in all aspects of the mining cycle enables her to identify development opportunities and priorities.
