Frédéric Julien
Frédéric Julien is an entrepreneur and director of business development. Consistently throughout his career, he has contributed to developing businesses and markets and managing teams and partner networks. He began his career by starting a foundry that won a Concours québécois en entrepreneuriat award, before putting this entrepreneurial instinct to work for SMEs for over 25 years in various sectors, including aluminum smelters, mines and energy. He notably spent 13 years at a manufacturing company, where he contributed to its significant growth and helped reposition its offering, structure its commercial approach and develop direct sales in Europe and the Middle East. Known for being hands-on and for his in-depth understanding of the operational challenges facing prime contractors, Frédéric has also spearheaded innovation projects, developed products still in operation today and built strategic alliances, including one internationally. Equally at ease on the shop floor and in the boardroom, he firmly believes that, to ensure harmonious long-term growth, a company must pay close attention to the internal alignment of its business development processes, from its mission through to execution in the field. Holding a bachelor’s degree in economics and a master’s degree in SME management from UQTR, having written a thesis on strategic alliances, he is currently driving the strategic repositioning of FRANSI, a manufacturing and field services company based in the Côte-Nord region, as Director of Business Development.
