François Bouffard

François Bouffard is Associate Professor and William Dawson Scholar at McGill University’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, where he is also Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs. Prior to joining McGill University, he was Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Manchester in the UK from 2006 to 2010. His research interests and expertise are in power system modeling, economics, control and optimization. He is currently vice-chair of the IEEE Power & Energy Society’s Technical Committee on Power System Operation, Planning and Economics. He is also a strategic advisor to Brainbox AI, a Quebec firm specializing in the intelligent management of HVAC systems energy consumption in commercial and institutional buildings.
