Florent Bigot

Florent Bigot is a PhD candidate in economic geology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Canada, under the supervision of Stéphane de Souza and Michel Jébrak. He earned a BSc degree in geology from Sorbonne Université (Paris, France) and holds MSc degrees from the Université de Montpellier (2016) and UQAM (2021). He has professional experience in gold exploration and production geology within Québec’s gold mining industry. His master’s research at UQAM focused on intrusion-related Cu-Au mineralization in the Val-d’Or district of the Abitibi greenstone belt. His doctoral research investigates mercury mineralogy, geochemistry and isotope systematics in Archean gold deposits, with an emphasis on hydrothermal processes across orogenic, volcanogenic massive sulfide and intrusion-related systems.
