Étienne Chabot

Étienne Chabot holds a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and a master’s degree in business management from Université Laval, and initially worked in the private sector and in ministerial offices. Within the Quebec civil service, he held the positions of Director of Climate Expertise at the Ministère de l’Environnement et de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques and Director of Private Education at the Ministère de l’Éducation.

Since April 2021, Mr. Chabot has been Director General of Electricity at the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie. In this capacity, he is responsible for developing the government’s orientations regarding the generation, transportation and distribution of electricity in Quebec, as well as monitoring Hydro-Québec’s activities.
