Érik Frenette

SSG

As a Project Manager and Modeler at SSG, Erik Frenette leads multidisciplinary teams whose mission is to support communities in addressing the challenges of mitigating and adapting to climate change. Drawing on his training and expertise in economics and mathematical modeling, Erik works with communities to develop sustainable and resilient strategies. His approach is both quantitative and holistic, based on the principles of system dynamics.

Most recently, Erik has worked closely with cities such as Montréal (Quebec), Saint John (New Brunswick), Kelowna (British Columbia), Ames (Iowa) and Tigard (Oregon), ensuring that their climate plans serve as catalysts for profound and rapid transformations within their communities. Erik also played a key role in the design of SSG’s Climate Adaptation Model, a tool enabling communities to quantify the risks associated with climate change. He continues to actively participate in the refinement and expansion of SSG’s flagship system dynamics model, CityInSight. Erik holds a Master’s degree in Economics from HEC Montréal, where he specialized in energy modeling.
