David Dufour
David Dufour is an entrepreneur and business executive with over 30 years of experience in economic development, large-scale project management, and business growth. Throughout his career, he has contributed to the development and success of several dynamic companies, particularly in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region of Québec.
His strength lies in his ability to bridge the gap between the ambitions of major industrial projects and the realities of the communities that host them. Combining an entrepreneurial mindset, a strong understanding of financial, technical, and international challenges, and deep knowledge of local dynamics, he brings together business objectives with the economic, social, and cultural priorities of local communities.
Today, at First Phosphate, he applies this approach to the development of the Bégin-Lamarche mining project and the establishment of a new strategic phosphate supply chain for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries.
His philosophy: the success of a major project depends not only on its technical and financial feasibility, but also on its ability to integrate into the everyday lives of local communities and make a meaningful contribution to their long-term prosperity.
