Hydro-Québec

Dave Rhéaume has been appointed Executive Vice-President – Energy Planning and Customer Experience, in 2023. In this role, his mandate is to anticipate Quebec’s electricity needs in the context of the energy transition, and to manage energy supplies and the evolution of Hydro-Québec’s products and services in such a way as to ensure a balance between supply and demand, while maximizing the company’s contribution to achieving the gouvernement du Québec’s decarbonization and economic development objectives. As the customer is at the heart of this process, he is also responsible for activities related to energy efficiency, customer experience and pricing. In addition, his team must seize opportunities to create energy partnerships, particularly with neighboring markets.

Previously, Mr. Rhéaume held the position of Vice President – Integrated Energy and Risk Planning from 2022 to 2023, after serving as Senior Director – Regulatory Affairs and Electricity Supply from 2018 to 2020, then Senior Director – Development, Strategies and Business Relations outside Quebec from 2020 to 2022, and finally Assistant Vice President – Integrated Planning for Energy Requirements in 2022. He also worked for Énergir from 2009 to 2018, where he was successively Director – Regulatory Affairs and Pricing, then Assistant Vice-President – Regulatory Affairs, Pricing and Gas Procurement. Among other achievements at Énergir, he participated in the development of the renewable natural gas market and the implementation of the carbon market in Quebec.

Mr. Rhéaume holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and politics from Université de Montréal and a master’s degree in economics from Université Laval. A member of the Board of Directors of Théâtre du Nouveau Monde since 2023, he has also served on the boards of various Canadian and U.S. energy companies. He has also acted as a mentor to newcomers as part of a program run by the Chamber of Commerce of Metropolitan Montreal.
