Darren L. Smith

Darren L. Smith, M.Sc., P.Geo., is Vice President of Exploration for Patriot Battery Metals Inc., and has more than 17 years experience in the mineral exploration industry. He specializes in high-level project management and technical disclosure with a focus on carbonatites & rare metals including lithium pegmatite. In 2009, Darren & his team discovered one of the world’s largest REE deposits (the Ashram Carbonatite), and since 2017 has been an instrumental part of the team that first recognised, and then successfully explored, the CV lithium pegmatite district at the Corvette Property in the James Bay, QC. The district is highlighted by the +3.7 km long CV5 Spodumene Pegmatite, with a maiden mineral resource estimate firmly establishing it as a world class lithium deposit, and one of the largest lithium pegmatites in the world.
