
Bruno Bussière
Bruno Bussière is a full professor at the Research Institute of Mines and Environment (RIME) of the Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue (UQAT), scientific director of IRME UQAT-Polytechnique since 2012 and holder of the NSERC-UQAT industrial research chair in mining site reclamation since 2015. He is a mining engineer (1991) and holds a master’s degree (1993) and a doctorate (1999) in hydrogeology and the mining environment from the École Polytechnique de Montréal. His areas of expertise include the performance of mine site reclamation methods for the control of acid mine drainage and contaminated neutral drainage, the characterization of mine tailings, the numerical modelling of hydrogeological and geochemical behaviour of mine tailings, the hydrogeotechnical aspects of mine tailings storage, and the influence of climate change on the mining sector.
