Aurélien Eglinger

Aurélien Eglinger is an associate professor at the University of Lorraine since 2016, affiliated with the GeoRessources laboratory and the Department of Geosciences. He obtained his PhD in Earth Sciences, specializing in Mineral Resources, from Henri Poincaré University in Nancy in 2013. His doctoral research focused on the uranium cycle and its relationship with the tectono-metamorphic evolution of the Pan-African Lufilian orogenic belt in Zambia.

His research activities focus on a range of mineral systems, including uranium, gold, and, more recently, lithium. He develops a multi-tool approach, from field-based investigations to laboratory analyses, in order to integrate Precambrian ore deposits through both temporal and spatial perspectives, from the mineral scale to the crustal and, in some cases, lithospheric scale. More recently, he took a two-year leave of absence to work in Québec between 2023 and 2025 as a geoscientist for Norda Stelo (InnovExplo). Since returning to the University of Lorraine, he has taken over the leadership of the Master’s program in Mineral Systems: Geology and Exploration (MSGE).
