McKinsey & Company

Amélie Lefebvre is an Associate Partner in the Energy Practice at McKinsey & Company. Specializing in the energy sector in Europe and North America, she supports public utilities, technology companies, and industrial players in addressing their strategic and operational challenges. Her expertise spans across strategic prioritization and investment planning, as well as major organizational, operational, and digital transformations.

Over the past 15 years, Amélie has been at the heart of key issues in the energy sector, with a particular focus on nuclear energy. In particular, she led the evaluation and financial structuring of major infrastructure projects to the order of several billion dollars. Her expertise in energy technologies, particularly nuclear power, has led her to evaluate and optimize technology roadmaps for research and development innovations. She also evaluated and compared the technical and economic viability of next-generation reactor fleets—including SMRs, large reactor technologies—while supporting strategic repositioning decisions for key players along the value chain. In light of the growth around artificial intelligence, she has also led major digitalization programs for operating reactor fleets, helping clients improve their industrial performance.

A nuclear safety engineer by training, Amélie began her career at AREVA, focusing on the rigorous technical design and safety of nuclear installations. She holds an engineering degree with a specialization in thermal-hydraulics and nuclear energy from the École nationale supérieure des techniques avancées (ENSTA) as well as an MBA from INSEAD.
