Alex Thivierge

Alex Thivierge graduated from Université Laval in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering. He then completed a doctorate in chemical engineering in 2022, where he specialized in the modelling and control of mineralurgical processes. In parallel with his graduate studies, he worked part-time in engineering at Soutex, where he used advanced modelling techniques to improve several comminution and hydrometallurgy circuits. Two years ago, he co-founded Jumine, a firm specializing in the design of digital tools for optimizing mineral processing plants. The firm currently employs 12 people and expects to complete the implementation of its first technology on a mining site in the coming months.
