Aba Marie Otron
After receiving a master’s degree in mineral resources engineering from the University of Lorraine (France), Aba Marie OTRON went on to earn her Ph.D. at the Institut National de la Recherche scientifique (Quebec), where her research focused on the extraction and purification of rare earth elements (REEs) and other metals from unsorted battery waste. Drawing on a multidisciplinary background, she has built expertise that spans the exploration, extraction, and valorization of mineral and metallic resources. In recent years, she has specialized in the hydrometallurgical recovery of critical and strategic minerals (CSMs). Aba Marie currently works as a researcher at the Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTÉI), participating in projects designed to promote circularity and resource efficiency in the mining and quarrying sector.
