Aaron Hervé Mbwe Mbissik
Aaron Mbissik is a geologist-in-training and member of the OGQ. He has a solid academic background and a wide range of professional experience. He holds a master’s degree in geology with a focus on exploration from Cadi Ayyad University in Morocco and a specialized master’s degree with a focus on open-pit and underground mining operations from École des Mines de Paris. He also holds a doctorate in applied mineralogy and agrogeology from the Université Mohammed VI Polytechnique in Morocco.
Professionally, Aaron has been working as a postdoctoral fellow at UQAT and Agnico Eagle since December 2023 and has focused on acid mine drainage prediction and metal leaching, as well as project management and experimental design. Prior to that, he was a resource geologist at Heidelberg Materials, where he carried out 3D modelling of deposits and resource estimates. He also completed an engineering internship at OCP, focusing on granulometric mapping and reserve estimation.
As part of this PARIDM project, Aaron’s involvement consisted of correlating the geoenvironmental data from laboratory tests with the data obtained from the automated analysis of drill cores processed by artificial intelligence. In this context, his main responsibility is to ensure the correct implementation and interpretation of the geoenvironmental static and kinetic tests. He will also be responsible for interpreting the results of the mineralogical characterizations and their impact on the geoenvironmental behaviour of the materials studied.
