{"id":1118,"count":3,"description":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">Charles Ward is a forest engineer who graduated from Laval University with a bachelor\u2019s degree in Forest Management and Environment in 2007. The same year, he undertook a master\u2019s degree in Forest Sciences and made a fast-track transfer to doctoral studies in 2009.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">His doctoral work focuses on the long-term monitoring of forest productivity and carbon sequestration in relation to plant succession, soil fertility and drainage, as well as the testing of various land preparations aimed at increasing forest productivity under difficult conditions of soil organic matter accumulation.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Since August 2015, he has been employed by the Direction de la recherche foresti\u00e8re as a researcher in silviculture and yield of plantations.
