Guillaume Giroud is a graduate from Universit\u00e9 Paris Diderot (D.E.U.G., 2000), from the University of Moncton (B. Sc., 2003) and from Laval University (M. Sc., 2005; Ph. D., 2017). He became a member of the Ordre des ing\u00e9nieurs forestiers du Qu\u00e9bec in 2004.<\/p>\r\n
From 2005 to 2006, he completed the practical training of Swiss forest engineers in the cantonal administrations of the states of Neuch\u00e2tel and Valais (Switzerland).<\/p>\r\n
From 2007 to 2018, he worked as a forest engineer for the Direction des inventaires forestiers of the Minist\u00e8re des For\u00eats, de la Faune et des Parcs.<\/p>\r\n
From 2018 until 2020, he was a researcher in silviculture and yield of natural forests for the Direction de la recherche foresti\u00e8re, where he was responsible for the long-term monitoring of regeneration cutting methods in softwood stands. His main research work focuses on modeling wood quality in relation to growing conditions. His research interests also relate to technologies for the non-destructive evaluation of wood properties.<\/p>\r\n
Since 2017, he teaches as a lecturer at the University of Moncton\u2019s School of Forestry in New-Brunswick.<\/p>\r\n
