Louis Duchesne has been a forest engineer since 1996. Since he obtained his master\u2019s degree in forest sciences from Laval University in 1999, he has held a position of expert researcher in the ecosystems and environment team at the Direction de la recherche foresti\u00e8re.<\/p>\r\n

For over 30 years, he has been overseeing the environmental monitoring activities of forest watersheds carried out by the Minist\u00e8re des For\u00eats, de la Faune et des Parcs.<\/p>\r\n

He specializes in the study of forest growth and nutrition, mostly aimed at better understanding and anticipating the impacts of environmental stress factors on forest dynamics. To achieve this, he uses large forest inventory data sets, historical meteorological data as well as data from experimental devices, among other tools. His work thus helps to better characterize forests and to improve our knowledge of how they function and interact with the environment.<\/p>\r\n
