{"id":1081,"count":5,"description":"<p style=\"text-align: left\">Emmanuel Duchateau is a biology graduate from Universit\u00e9 Henri-Poincar\u00e9 in Nancy, France (M. Sc., 2008) and from Laval University (Ph. D., 2013). His doctorate thesis focused on modelling tree knots development in black spruce and jack pine.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">From 2014 to 2015, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Laval University with Professor Alexis Achim. His research focused on modelling sawing and the use of maple and beech wood.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">From 2016 to 2018, he was a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Quebec at Rimouski (UQAR) in Professor Robert Schneider\u2019s Research Chair on Inhabited Forests. His research first focused on developing algorithms for the analysis of data acquired by terrestrial LiDAR, then on modelling spatial and diametral distributions of trees in stands.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">In January 2019, he joined the research team at the Direction de la recherche foresti\u00e8re on forest growth and yield modelling.
