From 2007 until 2021, he worked as a research scientist in forest management and ecology at the Direction de la recherche foresti\u00e8re. He obtained a bachelor\u2019s degree in biology from University of Quebec at Montreal (UQAM, B. Sc., 2000), a master\u2019s degree in wildlife and habitat management from University of Quebec at Rimouski (UQAR, M. Sc., 2002) and a Ph. D. in environmental sciences from UQAR-UQAM (2008).<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">He leads several projects whose goals converge towards the evaluation of the long-term effects of natural disturbances (fires, insect epidemics) and forestry practices on the structure, composition and growth in forest ecosystems.<\/p>\r\n<p style=\"text-align: left\">Recently, he took part in the launch of a large-scale project to measure the effects of fire severity on the resilience of boreal forests in a context of climate change.
