Piling area<\/p>\n<h1>Section 124<\/h1>\n<p>The setting up of a piling area is prohibited on a 30-m strip located along a road corridor and in its right-of-way. <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/drapeau-texte.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"disposition\">\n<h2>1<\/h2>\n<h4>Objectives<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To contribute to the quality of the experience in the forest<\/li>\n<li>To ensure the safety of forest road users<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4>Additional information<\/h4>\n<p>In some specific situations, notably due to the topography or low volumes, the setting up of a piling area in a 30-m strip along a road corridor may be warranted. In these situations, <a href=\"https:\/\/mrnf.gouv.qc.ca\/en\/RADF\/guide\/departures\/\"><span>a request for an exemption to the Regulation under section 40 of the Sustainable Forest Development Act <\/span><\/a><span>must be\u00a0<\/span>made with the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/gouvernement\/ministeres-organismes\/ressources-naturelles-forets\/coordonnees-structure\/reseau-regional\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"management unit in charge\">management unit in charge <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/lien_externe.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17461 alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a> (in French)<span>\u00a0<\/span>to stockpile wood in the right-of-way of a road designated as a road corridor or in the 30-m strip along this corridor. However, the following conditions must be met:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Work must be done over a limited period of time (from harvest to transportation)<\/li>\n<li>Work must be performed during periods of low usage<\/li>\n<li>Adequate and effective road signs must be in place and maintained throughout the duration of the work<\/li>\n<li>Agreement from the main users must be obtained<\/li>\n<li>Users must be notified of the potential danger by appropriate means (public notices, sign at the ZEC&#8217;s gatehouse, etc.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Any other conditions that address regional issues identified by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.quebec.ca\/gouvernement\/ministeres-organismes\/ressources-naturelles-forets\/coordonnees-structure\/reseau-regional\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" title=\"management unit in charge\">management unit in charge <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/lien_externe.png\" width=\"16\" height=\"15\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17461 alignnone size-full\" \/><\/a> (in French).<a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Art124A_anglais-web.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Distance between a piling area and a road corridor\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Art124A_anglais-web.jpg\" alt=\"Distance between a piling area and a road corridor\" width=\"380\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Figure 124A<\/span> Distance between a piling area and a road corridor<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The setting up of a piling area is also prohibited within 20 m of an open peat bog, a swamp, a riparian shrub marsh, a lake or a watercourse.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/drapeau-texte.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"disposition\">\n<h2>2<\/h2>\n<h4>Objectives<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>To preserve the integrity of an aquatic, wetland or riparian environment<\/li>\n<li>To avoid carrying sediment into an aquatic, wetland or riparian environment<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a href=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Art124B_anglais-web.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone\" title=\"Distance between a piling area and a wetland or aquatic environment\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/Art124B_anglais-web.jpg\" alt=\"Distance between a piling area and a wetland or aquatic environment\" width=\"380\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Figure 124B<\/span> Distance between a piling area and a wetland or aquatic environment<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>The organic matter from the scraping of soil for the laying out of a piling area must be piled more than 20 m from an open peat bog, a swamp, a riparian shrub marsh, a lake or a watercourse for its reuse.
