Chapter IV \u2013 Wildife habitat protection\nDivision I – Prohibited forest development activities<\/p>\n\n

Section 48<\/h1>\nThe following forest development activities are prohibited in a waterfowl gathering area:\n
    \n \t
  1. the application of pesticides to control insect epidemics and cryptogamic diseases;<\/li>\n \t
  2. the application of phytocides;<\/li>\n \t
  3. the construction of roads;<\/li>\n \t
  4. the digging of a drainage ditch for sylvicultural purposes.\"\"<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    • To preserve the integrity of a wildlife habitat<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\nThe foregoing also applies to tree pruning, felling or harvesting and preparatory work for forest production purposes in the floodplain of a waterfowl gathering area, subject to the third paragraph.\"\"\n

        Explanations<\/h4>\nTree pruning, felling or harvesting and preparatory work for forest production purposes is prohibited in the floodplain of a waterfowl gathering area. However, the work mentioned in the third paragraph of this section is not prohibited. In other words:\n

        • From December 16 to March 14, partial cutting not exceeding 30% of the merchantable stems present in a waterfowl gathering area, carried out over a 10-year period, is permitted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\nFrom 16 December to 14 March, partial cutting not exceeding 30% of the merchantable stems present, carried out over a 10-year period, is allowed in a floodplain of a waterfowl gathering area.\"\"\n
