Dominique Deschênes

An experienced engineer and manager, Dominique Deschênes has been Assistant Deputy Minister for Energy at the Ministère de l’Économie, de l’Innovation et de l’Énergie since October 2022. She previously held the position of Associate Deputy Minister for the Energy Innovation and Transition Sector at the Ministère de l’Énergie et des Ressources naturelles. She has more than ten years’ experience in this department, where she has held a variety of responsibilities over the years.

Before joining the public service, she worked at EXFO, first as an engineer, then as a manager. She therefore has over twenty years’ experience in engineering and management in both the private and public sectors.

Her extensive experience gives her a thorough understanding of the environmental, economic and social issues surrounding Quebec’s energy transition. Her management skills will enable her to carry out her mandate in a way that combines her actions with the realities of all the players involved in this major social project.

On a daily basis, she works enthusiastically with her multidisciplinary team on innovative projects, without ever losing sight of her primary motivation, which is to contribute to Quebec’s energy transition.
